I visit the neighborhood grocery store regularly, on average probably 2 times a week. I visit the deli counter, or at least pass by it on every occasion. Not because I need deli products every visit, but because I will not purchase from a specific employee. I can personally attest that this employee makes customers feel as if they are torturing him with any request.
Yes, it is a job and it might not be the most entertaining or fulfilling of jobs, but it’s important that the customer service delivered is satisfying regardless of how horrible an employee perceives the job is. Employees can get frustrated, bored or stuck in a routine, but if the customer feels that pain it reflects poorly on the business.
